Intention- Week 3

“You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”

-Adapted from the Upanishads Ancient Sanskrit Text

In The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra explains five steps for using the power of intention to create what you desire. Below is a condensed version of his steps.

1.  Slip into the Gap
Most of the time, our minds are filled with thoughts, emotions, and memories. Chopra describes “the gap” as the quiet space between thoughts, which we can access through meditation. According to Chopra, this is the ideal place to plant the seed of intention.

2.  Release Your Intentions and Desires
Plant your intention after meditation, while your awareness remains centered in the quiet field of options. After you set an intention, let it go, but revisit after your meditation period each day.

3.  Remain Centered in a State of Restful Awareness
Intention is much more powerful when it comes from a place of contentment than if it arises from a sense of lack or need. Stay focused, not allowing the negative influence of others to deter you.

4.  Detach from the Outcome

When we have a fixed mindset of the outcome we are not trusting in the true power of our higher self.

5.  Let the Universe Handle the Details
Your focused intentions set the infinite organizing power of the universe in motion. Trust that infinite organizing power to orchestrate the complete fulfillment of your desires. Stay open to possibilities.

Focus Your Intentions
The best way to focus your intentions is to write them down.

What do you really want? If you are unsure, try writing down a few ideas of what is important to you. Then let them sit and see what comes up during your week.
